Having recently had the very great fortune to dine at the dazzling and lavish Gaylord Indian restaurant in London, (a review of which is coming soon) the pleasure was doubled by the addition of the above wine, a meaty and bold mouthful that would compliment heavily spiced food, venison and other strongly flavoured game and great British tradition of roast rib of beef.
I’ve often said that my consumption far outstrips my knowledge of the great grape, so I’ll leave Wine Direct, from whom you can buy this spankingly good nectar to give a fine description :-
‘A ripe, succulent wine offering aromas of violets, spice and tobacco, leading to a round, mouth filling palate, flavours of berry fruit and a persistent finish.’
These are my words – ‘It’s bloody good – buy a dozen bottles.’
