Luigi’s of Fulham Road by M. Kuehn

The first thing that hits you when you step inside this mind blowingly good deli on The Fulham Road  is just how much produce and cooked food they manage to cram into the place. Not a centimetre of space is free.

Handsome looking dishes like the melanzana draw you in and before you know it, your eyes are darting around like Michael Corleone’s in The Godfather, right before he executes his first killing.

The folk who work there are a delightful bunch – that rare breed of people who are happy in their work environment. Charming, helpful and obviously keen to feed people the best of Italian fare.

Just looking at the bresaola, a million miles away from that ghastly plastic excuse for meat in most supermarkets, I instinctively knew it would be right up my strada.

If you hate cooking and have a bob or two, hurry along and fill your boots. There are times when you just want to point your finger and say ‘I’ll have that, that and that please.’ Weighing yourself down with a splendid selection of wines to boot, I think it’s mission jolly well accomplished.
